EPOXY PAINTS
Two part epoxy paints are the most durable finishes made for below the water line applications. Epoxy paints are not affected by water so they can sit below the water line indefinitely, they also have a outstanding bond strength. These features make them perfect for the bottoms of boats, bilges, fish ponds (the paint is inert after seven days), showers and hot tubs. Epoxy paints unlike two part polyurethanes have no isocyanides so they can be sprayed with just a charcoal filter mask. They can be roller on and tipped off with a foam roller and a foam brush but keep in mind epoxy paints cure quickly they cure to a dust free surface in about twenty minutes. Epoxy paints are not U.V. stabilized so keep this in mind when selecting your finishes. The lack of U.V. protection causes epoxy paints caulk over time. Seven days after the application of this product it can be waxed, this offers some U.V. protection if you use a wax with U.V. inhibitors.
