Exclusive features include the E.I. Sporttrek Rudder System, the only balanced foil rudder in the kayaking universe. Our design keeps the rudder fully extended under the stern for full control at all times, not hanging over the deck and lifting half out of the water in a following sea. The foil rudder effects a turn predominantly by generating lift instead of drag. With single line deployment, it can instantly be set partially down for "tracking only" course control, or locked in its stern slot when you prefer to go rudderless. No exposed rudder for wind and wave to push around.
Your Photon has formed rubber handles, a sealed day locker just ahead of the cockpit, a U-bolt lock anchor and replaceable keel-guard strips fore and aft to protect the hull from scoring on rocks and barnacles. The main cargo hatch seals with a pressure lock cover system, keeping your gear dry and easy to access.
